Eric Lamme
(FCAMPT, BScPT, MCPA)

Originally from The Netherlands, Eric moved to Newfoundland in 1988 with a degree in Physiotherapy. He obtained his Part-A certification in Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 1993 and his Part-B certification in 1994 and worked as a clinician and manual therapy instructor throughout Canada until joining Cirque du Soleil in 2001.

 

From 2002-2007 Eric travelled and worked as Head-Therapist on several of Cirque du Soleil’s Touring shows, managing performance related injuries of its acrobats, dancers, actors and musicians.  He transferred into the role of Director of Performance Medicine Touring Shows in 2007, taking responsibility for the functioning and development of a total of 26 touring show therapists.

 

In January 2013, Eric returned to St. John’s NL and currently practices from Riverside Therapeutics on Waterford Bridge Road, an Orthopaedic & Sports Injury clinic.  He carries a full-time caseload of orthopaedic-, sports- and dance-related injuries while overseeing the functional aspect of our clinic with his colleague Krissy Dooling.

 

Eric is acknowledged by his peers as a skillful practitioner in the field of manual therapy use in physiotherapy practice.

 

Eric was a postgraduate instructor for the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in the field of manual and manipulative therapy from 1994 until 2001, at which point he decided to join the Cirque du Soleil Performance Medicine team.

 

He is registered to practice physiotherapy with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists (www.nlcpt.com). He is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) (www.physiotherapy.ca) as well as The Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (www.manippt.org).
