Stephen Gurr

Stephen has over 10-years experience providing nutrition services to athletes from a wide range of sports, from “weekend warriors” to individuals who have competed at the Olympic Games and World Championship level. Prior to moving to Newfoundland in late 2019, he worked in Doha, Qatar, where he provided nutrition services to elite junior and senior athletes across a wide range of sports, including soccer, track and field and squash. Prior to that he worked at the Australian Institute of Sport, where he provided nutrition services to the Men’s and Women’s youth basketball programs and the Australian Rugby 7’s team.

Stephen also has experience in providing nutrition support to clients in a clinical and community setting, including nutrition management of chronic conditions such as diabetes (non-insulin dependent), hypertension (high blood pressure), hypercholesteremia (high cholesterol) and overweight/obesity. Stephen always aims to offer clients individualized, research-based nutrition advice to help them achieve their health and performance goals.

He currently holds Registered Dietitian status with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians.

Outside of work, Stephen is a keen runner, having competed in multiple marathons and ultramarathons, as well as three Ironman triathlons. He also enjoys reading, traveling and hiking, having recently discovered the wonders of the East Coast trail.
